I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Autumn Safety Alert: Keeping Women and Girls Safe in Our Community 🌙 As the nights draw in earlier, our Safer Neighbourhoods team is stepping up patrols across local areas to help prevent violence against women and girls. We’re committed to making our streets safer and more reassuring for everyone, especially during the darker evenings.
Extra Patrols: This Autumn You’ll see more officers out and about during peak evening hours, offering a visible presence and engaging with residents. These patrols are focused on:👮 • Identifying and deterring suspicious behaviour • Supporting vulnerable individuals • Responding quickly to concerns raised by the public
Crime Prevention Advice - Here are some simple steps to help stay safe:🛡️ • Stay in well-lit areas and avoid shortcuts through isolated places • Keep your phone charged and accessible in case of emergency • Let someone know your route and expected arrival time when travelling alone • Report anything suspicious, no matter how small via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers
We’re Here to Listen, our officers are available to talk, offer advice, and support anyone who feels unsafe. If you see us on patrol, feel free to approach and speak with us.
We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years. |
